Gary's tasting notes
Fantastic aromatics of acorn mixed with peach and apricot fuzz. The palate is rich and complex, and one of my favorites of the newsletter. Vanilla (which is surprising for this appellation), green pepper, and a massive amount of minerality and complexity. This wine has a tremendous, impressively long finish. This acts as a perfect example of why Menetou-Salon is underrated. Fingers crossed, this region will eventually step out from behind Sancerre's shadow and take its rightful place among the other great wines of the Loire Valley.
