Gary's tasting notes
The classically famous domaine of almost 8 hectares, based primarily in Chassagne-Montrachet, and was established in 1985 when Gagnard-Delagrange separated its two estates. This wine is from an old parcel located in one of the top 1er Cru vineyards in the heart of the village between Clos St. Jean and Champs Gain.
Gorgeous tropical nose. with a little hint of smoked tangerine... throw 'em on the Weber grill and that's what you get in this wine! Its got great mid-palate transition through finish, and great acidity. Again, I don't know what all this talk is about '09 not delivering on acidity.... this might just be a good run, or that might be all hodgepodge. Is it approachable now? Yes. Is it lacking acid to age? Not a chance. It's got beautiful structure and is not flabby at all. Great finish and an absolutely wishlist worthy for someone who likes white burgundy but can't afford to drink it on a nightly basis."
