1) Somethin uber duber expensive
2) Wine is an intangible magical beast that is so big and full encompassing of the human imagination that it can be tamed, beat down, or stopped. My first run in was my last year in college, and what interested me was not only how many wines there were, the prestige behind wine, but how challenging and personal wine can become when you try and get into it.-

Without a doubt the most moving episode I've watched in 5 years. As a diehard lurked, I really appreciated his comments. He looks to be my age so, resonated even more.

FANTASTIC down-to-Earth guest with wine passion in his humble DNA.
QOTD 1: I'm sure Fox and Gecco had the cash and status-boosting need to score something silly like some 1982 Mouton Rothschild, and since the film was made in 1987, they likely were foolish enough to pop it way, WAY too soon.
QOTD 2: What started as a little research project for an 18-year-old bartender became a lifelong passion for me, leading me to follow WLTV almost from episode 1, and later lead me to pass my certified Sommelier exams. Wine is a huge part of my life both professionally and socially, and I have SO much left to learn and explore. Here's to good wine and amazing company always.-

Daily Grape/Wine Library TV: RIP
And for the final Question of the Day: I love the mystery of wine because it brings people together. Wine is alive, ever-changing, evolving and we as fans of its allure become involved in that process. Together we move forward, refining our palates, discovering new flavors and the best part, sharing with our family & friends. And speaking of family, they totally brought it this year for my birthday:
2: 2007 Hoopes Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Oakville Napa) This will be the featured wine at our holiday table as Hoopes is my mother's maiden name and it will go perfectly with steak. I think I'll save the second one for my 50th next year(These babies ain't cheap)
2009 R. Dubois & Fils Cote de Nuits-Villages Burgundy
2009 R. Dubois & Fils Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits Burgundy plus $50 for one of my local wine shops and another $50 for Spanish Table. Awesome! If any of y'all are ever in my neck o' the woods and wanna have a BYOB party, I'm game

I really enjoyed this episode. It also was reminicent of me making wine with my father from the late 40's to 1969 when he passed away. I was impressed with Mele's knowledge of wines. His question of what I considered the mystery of wine tasting is to each of us.The big mystery to me is how does one cultivate the ability to pick out the smells and tastes that was not part of the wine's recipe, like smelling cedar or tasting caramel. I'm glad someone recognized Vaynerchuk how much he has contributed to people by teaching them how to better choose the wines they buy. From one to ten, I give Mele a ten.

Mystery of wine is that it is a living thing and when enjoyed with friends and family, it comes alive!! Cheers! Great episode to both Gary's. So sad it has to come to an end...

QOTD2: For me the term 'mystery' in and of itself sums up wine well for my conception of it. The complexities of the differences between various varietals, styles, and vintages, combined with the complexities of the traditions and culture and history associated with wine all make it a part of life that contains within itself nearly infinite possibilities of adventures and continuous learning and growing!
