Gary, you do an interview a week. Will you do an interview about wine? I run a marketing company with a website called Niagara Wine Videos, to help promote Niagara's wine scene. What do you think?

Just love Evans face when Gary says " like a person pokes you with a stick in the eye" about the finish.... love how Gary doesn't suck up..

A good friend of mine gave me the remnants, maybe a 3rd left, of a 1994 Grange. I tried it for the first time on Sunday morning, having received it the night before, and it being open for several days. It blew me away and I never got over the soft power that it exuded. It was an amazing wine and one that really took my palate in new directions.

Awesome show. Evan, I couldn't agree with you more that people are interested in people. Nearly every fantastic wine experience I've had has a face associated with the wine. For me, it all started with a 2006 Panther Creek Cellars Temperance Hill Pinot Noir. It was the first wine I ever had, made me fall in love with the Willamette Valley and Pinot Noir.

QOTD - 1981 Clos du Val Cabernet, because that was the first red wine I tasted that made me want to drink more red wine. And I have had a lot of red wine since I tried it in the early 1980's.

    Hi Evan and Gary,
great show, Evan I look forward to meeting you in October in Brescia for the EWBC I live in Sicily in a wine growing region, the province of Trapani.
To answer the QOTD: 2008 Teroldego Grill made by Tiziano Cobelli of Azienda Agricola Eredi Cobelli of Sorni Lavis Trentino. Teroldego is a beautiful indigenous Trentino variety not well known outside of Trentino. This wine was amazing, and the wine maker and producer so humble and sweet. I tasted it in his tasting room with his brother and they had their younger high school age brother and mom make a plate of Trentino cold cuts and cheeses and told us their winery's history and their aspirations. It was very moving. I think you are right a personal connection stays in your mind and we connect the wine with the people behind it. Dea :)

Dea - Teroldego! What an interesting variety. In the Finger Lakes, there is a small producer experimenting with Teroldego, and the early results are promising. I love your story. Thanks for sharing it - we'll be sharing many more in Brescia!
