QOTD: Erm....looking at the other comments, I'll have to go with Pomegranates too. But I have tried Dragon fruit, but I didn't really LOVE it, as it were.
Last wine I had....a specialty wine from Ken Ridge, Red IceVine. Thick like an icewine but more flavor and depth. Good chillled slightly. I like it, which surprises me, cause I am not a fan of white ice wine. -

Lychee! That and figs. The last bottle I had was a 2009 Saintsbury "Garnet" Pinot Noir.

Great blind tasting. Fruit for me is the pomegranate. Recent wine from tonight was a cheapo...Lucky Duck Riesling. Cellar tracker has the gory details, but bottom line was myeh. Bland.

Nice blind tasting - I didn't think that you could pull off a blind tasting of three wines in 10 minutes or less and not short-change the content - I was wrong. Kudos.
QOTD: passionfruit, weirdly delicious but somewhat difficult to eat. Monday night we had a bottle of 1998 Chapellet Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. It was lovely and elegant.

I love love LOVE the blind tasting episodes! Bring on some more blind tastings!!!! I can not remember what who made the last wine I had, but it was a Pinot Noir from California. It was a bit over the top for me.

Love the blind tasting episodes.
Last wine I had was a 2010 Margui Rose. A bit lighter than a Tavel, but had a nice, long finish. -

Last night had a Tavel rosé with lamb chops. Now I can understand most people saying : say what?
But with the hot weather a heavy red was not in the cards last night and I must state here that rosé most of the time is at its best by itself in a hat afternoon, back from work type of environment but serious rosé like Tavel can pait great with bbqed meats on a hot day.Pomegranite in a arugula or spinach salad is the bomb.

Last wine I had was the 2010 Rochioli PN Rose. Not entirely Summer-like yet, but its a beautiful Rose to enjoy in any way or time. On the topic of exotic fruit, I would say Pomegranates and Tangerines, as I grew up with them both in my yard. To me they consequently weren't that exotic, but I wanted to bring a fruit up so there you go. I like avocados a lot. Always wanted a tree or two..

Kiwi is probably as weird as I get, and last night I had a strange white blend from Bear Flag Winery - it was actually pretty tasty - good acidity and plenty going on for under $10. Great packaging too http://www.bearflagwine.com/

Rhubarb! If you haven't chewed on it raw try it; it will remind you of some wines you've probably disliked.

I'm back!
Been busy Gary, sorry! Nice to see you on form with the BT! QOTD: Pomegranate? Don't get it, I'm surprised Syrah has had a dip in the USA - its such a fantastic grape in my opinion. Am drinking Fleurie tonight - its real nice as well. 09 vintage
