I happened to be drinking a Sauternes (2004 Chateau Haut-Bergeron Sauternes) when I noticed that you had a show about Sauternes. :)

Yes, I had a Sauterne but had no idea what I was having. A client ordered it and I tried it. I have to say I didn't appreciate it then as much as I would now. Probably because I'm going to be 50 this year. HA.

QOTD: Yes, I have had a Sauternes, but I can't remember which one. I do have your number one rated wine from your first book, Chateau Doisy Vedrines Sauternes 2005, sitting in my cellar and can't wait to try it.

QOTD: I've had a white dessert wine before, but I have no idea what is was. So I guess my answer is probably not.

OOooo! I get to correct Gary!! These wines don't predominantly comprise sauv blanc. Sauternes bottles are dominated by semillon. Filhot's proportions are often 60% semillon, 37% S.B. and 3% Muscadelle. Guiraud uses 70% semillon and 30% S.B.
It's amazing stuff, though. Been thinking of pairing it with tiramisu or creme brulee lately. Thanks for the show!

QOTD: Yes, have tasted in wine classes. I was taught they are predominantly semillon.
PA has a $15.99 half bottle on Chairman's Selection.
