Looking for anything in particular? Old/New World? Red/White/Rose/Bubbles/Dessert? Gift? For a wine enthusiast or newbie?

For me an enthusiast with a swedish christmas food table. Ham meatballs, salmon, baltic herring, aspargusomelette, sausage ect, ect :)

Well then I would go with rose, cru beaujolais, chinon, or pinot noir for everything but the herring and asparagus. For those two I would go with a gruner veltliner or sauvignon blanc from the loire. Or for a paring to match everything I would try bubbly - or better yet, a brut rose. Cider or a pilsner could work too.

Danade hits them all on the head. Baltic herring? Ohmigosh, can I come to your dinner?
Though it is sometimes hit or miss, I would begin my search for a cru Beaujolais. Donnhoff Kabinett Reisling would be great for your white. I love that stuff.
Merry Christmas to you and yours AndersN.
