I would head to Santa ynez... you could spend a whole day in Los Olivos checking out tasting rooms by foot.. over 30 rooms to choose from...
some of my favorites were Andrew Murray (big bold syrahs) Stolpman (rhone varietals) Tenlsey (rhone varietals) Longoria (loved their pinots) Carina (shares same room with Tensley) Dragonette (nice wines) Daniel Gehrs (nice place to hang out if your taking a lady friend)
There's some tasting rooms in Solvang but I can't remember being all too excited about those..
Now if you can find a D. Driver or just take it easy and spit a whole lot i would def check out:
Brander - if your a fan of sauv blancs - they make like 7 of them
Gainey - beautiful vineyard, good wines
Foxen (tasting room) - who hasn't heard of foxen - amazing wines
Zaca Mesa - great rhone varietals and fun place to hang out
Fess Parker - beautiful grounds great wines - party zone
Rancho Sisquoc - romantic setting but deep in the canyon
Melville - awesome pinots
Foley - great Chards / pinots
Alma Rosa - good pinots and cool tasting room from the movie sideways
Sanford - beautiful views... I think you can see the Sea Smoke Vineyards from the tasting room from what I believe.. this whole area is just beautiful (Santa Rita Hills)..
Anyways there are so many places to choose from you shouldn't have trouble finding something enjoyable..
if your looking for a romantic Bed & Breakfast I'd stay at THE BALLARD INN (just 5 minutes from Los Olivos and its beautiful!!)
Ok hope this helps.. I guess i'll try to get to work now.. oh ya this is my first time posting! still need to post on Wine Library tv forum..

Carr Winery and Silver Winery in the Wine ghetto a few blocks from the beach both make awesome wines. Margerum and Au Bon Climat are next to each other close to the SB courthouse. On the SB pier Deep Sea has a great tasting room with phenomenal views and decent wines. Cheers!

I concur with both Brandon and Scott. One of my most fun and intriguing wine trips. I remember standing at the same spot where Miles (Sideways fame) dumped the spit bucket on his face at Fess Parker and the SB pier. One other "dive" I loved and have a postcard next to my computer at work is Brophy Bros at the marina. Fun, touristy place.
P.S. Go to Solvang at least for the architecture and interesting shops.
