Don't know if Gary ever chimed in on what he thought of wine certifications, but I just took my CSW and am awaiting the results. . gulp. I basically took on the task as a personal challenge and to possibly lend some credibility to my blog www.grapesrgreat.com . . . anybody else endeavor into any certifications?

I completed the WSET Advanced Certification exam on June 19th. I won't have the results until late August. The course was very difficult and simply attending class and reading the assigned text book won't enable you to pass. You need to study, study, study... If you want to really test yourself and you have the ability to take the Intermediate and Advanced Certification classes, I'd recommend them.

I got the results and passed with an 88%! Pretty excited, but always being hungry for knowledge (specifically about wine) I'm always looking out for the next way to advance myself. Living in the middle of the mid-west, however, doesn't lend itself to the pursuit very well.
